| Information |  About the Legion Established in 1926, The Legion is the largest Veterans service organization in Canada with more than 320,000 members. Our mission is to serve veterans, which includes serving military and RCMP members and their families, to promote remembrance and to serve our communities and our country. We Can Help We care for all Veterans of all ages and their families The Legion Service Bureau Network serves Veterans, members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), RCMP, and their families by representing their interests with Veterans Affairs Canada and the Veterans Review and Appeal Board for disability benefits under the Pension Act or the New Veterans Charter. The Legion’s professional Command Service Officers are mandated by legislation to provide representation, advocacy and financial assistance free of charge, Legion member or not. |
| Eligibility | Membership was originally restricted to those who had served in Canada's Armed Forces and Merchant Navy. The Royal Canadian Legion is proud of its military heritage and still maintains close ties with the Armed Forces today; however, over the years, categories of membership have evolved to include other members of the community. |
