| Information | Swissair 111 Memorial One of the two memorial sites for the Swissair 111 disaster of 1998. Located in a peaceful setting near the ocean, this monument was placed in memory of those who lost their lives in 1998 when Swissair Flight 111 crashed into the Atlantic Ocean approximately 8 km (5 mi) from shore. This memorial at Bayswater has the names of all those who perished. The small fishing village of Bayswater was one of the sites used in the recovery operation following the crash. Picnic and toilet facilities located across the road at Bayswater Beach Provincial Park.  |
