Information | The objectives of the German Canadian Cultural Association of Lunenburg County are: 1. To preserve the German cultural heritage of German-speaking settlers ad immigrants and their descendants in Lunenburg county by: a) Creating awareness among Nova Scotians of the historical significance of immigration from German-speaking countries and the contributions of the immigrants to the development of Canada. b) Stimulating interest in efforts by the descendants of these immigrants of other Nova Scotians to explore the heritage of German-speaking counties and by supporting the dissemination of these research findings. c) Participating in multicultural events in Nova Scotia, providing a perspective on the customs and traditions of Germany and German-speaking countries in Lunenburg County. 2. To promote the understanding and appreciation of the German language and cultures of German-speaking countries by: a) supporting and promoting the reaching of the German language. b) Initiating and/or sponsoring educational meetings, lectures, conferences, exhibitions, concerts and workshops for the purpose of stimulating interest among Nova Scotians in the German language and culture of German-speaking countries. c) Disseminating information of current cultural events, educational resources and opportunities with respect to The German language and customs and traditions of Germany and German-speaking countries. 3) To cooperate with other associations having similar objectives regarding any activity to further these objectives.
